The Pura Puncak Mangu temple located on the top of Gunung Catur (2096 m). The history of Pucak mangu writen on the Babad Mengwi Story. Which is the place where the same one that used by I Gusti Agung Putu on story in creation of Pura Ulun Danu Beratan. Pn Pucak Mangu I gusti Agung Putu get a lot of Power and holyness. And after beat I Gusti Ngurah Kekeran he became the first king of Mengwi and change his name become Tjokorda Sakti Blambangan.
A beautifull but demanding hike to the top of Gunung Catur. You can park your car at Taman Rekreasi Bedugul. From the water sport area, a trail around the south side of the lake goes to Goa Jepang (Japanese Cave), dug during WWII. Next to the cave (on the right side facing the cave) there is a trail going in the jungle. After about 10 meters you come to the trail going up to the temple. The hike starts very easy, but the last part is very steep. The trip will take you about 2 to 3 hours to get to the top and another 1 to 2 hours to get back down.
