With large of area around 187,5 hectare and population about 2.995 people, It's different than other village around it, because most of other village has 2 or 4 time more people than kamasan. As comparison, Gelgel which has the same wide like Kamasan has population around 4.392 people.
Kamasan Village already exist since Gelgel Dynasti in Bali. At the beginning, Kamasan people works as farmers, but since eruption on Mount Agung, most of them change their profession became Wayang painter or gold and silver smiths.
Wayang Kamasan Painting
The most famous from Kamasan is Traditional Wayang Kamasan painting. The story that mostly paint in Wayang Kamasan painting usually, Mahabaratha and Ramayana story. Now the Wayang Kamasan painting can be seen in either Taman Gili and Kerta Gosa Klungkung
